Bench+ Privacy Policy

Bench+ has no account, no analytics and no advertising. Everything you measure, photograph or write down stays on your phone.
The app makes network requests in two places, and only these two: the Picks tab downloads our product recommendations and their photos, and Site map downloads map tiles when you open it. Neither sends us anything about you — there is no identifier attached, because there is no account to attach one to. Every other tool works without a connection.
This policy covers the Bench+ mobile app. It does not cover other Plus Ventures apps, which have their own policies.
What we collect
Nothing. There is no sign-up, no profile, no email address, no advertising identifier and no usage tracking. We have no database with your name in it, because we have no database.
The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting SDK and no advertising SDK. This is a deliberate product decision, not an oversight, and it is checked before every release.
What stays on your phone
Everything the app produces is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded:
- Measurements, readings and calibration settings
- Jobs, project notes, customer and site details you type in
- Photos you attach to a job
- Site map routes and the coordinates of places you mark
- Your preferences, pinned tools and saved unit pairs
Because this data never leaves your device, it is not backed up by us. It is included in your own iCloud or Android device backup, and it is deleted when you delete the app.
Bench+ is free
There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no paid tier. The app never asks you to pay for anything, so it never contacts a payment system and we never see a card number, a billing address or a store account.
The App Store and Google Play distribute the app, so they know you downloaded it. That is between you and them, under their own policies — Apple and Google. We receive no personal information from either.
Device permissions, and why
Each permission is requested at the moment you first use a tool that needs it, never at launch. Declining one disables only that tool.

Maps
Site map draws your route on a Google map. Opening it downloads map tiles from Google, which means Google receives the map area you are looking at, under Google’s own privacy policy. Your recorded route and the places you mark are stored on your device and are never uploaded to us.
Sharing a project
When you tap Share on a job, the app hands the text, figures, any photos and any saved coordinates to your phone's own share sheet. You choose where it goes. We are not a party to it and receive no copy.
Picks
The Picks tab shows tools and materials we think are worth owning. The list and its photos are downloaded from our server; we do not know which ones you look at, because nothing about your browsing is sent back.
Some Picks links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through one. This costs you nothing and does not change what we recommend. Tapping a link opens your browser or the retailer’s app, and from that point you are on their site under their privacy policy.
Who we share your data with
Nobody. We do not sell, rent, trade or disclose personal information, because we do not hold any. There are no advertising partners and no data brokers.
Children
Bench+ is a tool for home and trade use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Privacy laws including the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to produce or erase. To delete everything Bench+ has created, delete the app from your device, or clear individual jobs inside it.
We have never sold or shared personal information, and have no plans to.
Accuracy and limitations
Bench+ is not a certified measuring instrument and its readings are not suitable for compliance, safety or legal purposes. Each tool states its own limitations on screen. This is a product statement rather than a privacy one, but it matters as much.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. If a future version ever collected anything about you, added a paid feature, or sent data anywhere beyond the two requests described above, we would say so here and in the app before it happened.
